Hardley Windmill

Hardley Windmill is the most active mill on the Norfolk Broads.

Restored and run by volunteers.  The epic restoration started in 1992.  Work on the cap and sails was completed in 2009.  Now the sails turn regularly and after a climb to the top of the mill, visitors can enjoy the stunning view from the balcony running round the mill cap.  Work on the internal machinery is complete.  When conditions are suitable the internal turbine pump can be demonstrated.  The engineering work, grass cutting, maintenance of the visitor centre, guiding visitors up the mill, providing refreshments and organising special events are largely down to the dedicated team of volunteers.
